Drone LiDAR Scanning
Millimeter-accurate aerial point clouds captured by sensor-equipped UAVs.
// Coverage / AL
Engineering-grade aerial LiDAR anywhere in Alabama — captured by FAA-certified pilots near your site, processed to one national QA standard, delivered in the formats your team works in.
01// Field Notes
Alabama runs from Appalachian ridge-and-valley country in the northeast down through piedmont hills and the Black Belt prairie to pine flatwoods near Mobile Bay. Loblolly pine plantations cover much of the state and scan well year-round, while the hardwood hollows of the Cumberland Plateau reward leaf-off flights between November and March. Summer afternoon thunderstorms are the main scheduling variable in the humid months.
Class C airspace surrounds Birmingham, Huntsville, and Mobile, and restricted areas over Redstone Arsenal shape flight planning on Huntsville’s south side. Maxwell Air Force Base adds military traffic around Montgomery, but the majority of Alabama job sites sit in uncontrolled airspace where Part 107 operations launch without authorization.
Huntsville’s aerospace and defense expansion — including the growth ringing Redstone Arsenal and the Mazda Toyota plant — keeps north Alabama site work busy, while Airbus assembly in Mobile anchors Gulf Coast industrial demand. Automotive supplier construction along I-65 and timberland boundary mapping round out a steady project mix.

03// FAQ
Most Alabama projects fall between $2,500 and $15,000 depending on acreage, vegetation, deliverables, and whether certified survey control is required. Small single-site scans start lower; large or corridor projects are quoted per linear mile. Send a KML of your site and we return an exact quote within 24 hours.
Yes — Pro LiDAR contracts vetted, FAA-certified pilots across Alabama, including the Birmingham area. Because capture happens locally, you don't pay travel mobilization for most sites, and weather windows can be hit quickly.
Our point clouds, DEMs, and contours are engineering-grade and drop directly into CAD, GIS, and BIM workflows. When a deliverable must carry a professional land surveyor's certification, we partner with licensed surveyors in Alabama to provide it. Remote Optix Inc. and Pro LiDAR are not professional land surveyors and do not represent themselves as such.
