Drone LiDAR Scanning
Millimeter-accurate aerial point clouds captured by sensor-equipped UAVs.
// Coverage / CA / San Jose & Silicon Valley
Engineering-grade aerial LiDAR across the San Jose & Silicon Valley area — captured by FAA-certified pilots who fly this market every week, processed to one national QA standard, delivered in the formats your team works in.
01// Field Notes
The South Bay runs from tidal salt flats and levee-lined sloughs at the bay margin up into oak-grassland foothills on both valley walls, with the urbanized floor in between almost entirely flat. Fog burns off faster here than up the Peninsula, so morning captures usually hold, and the bayland levees around Alviso — some of them below sea level — make subsidence and flood-protection mapping a distinctly local specialty.
San Jose Mineta's Class C sits beneath the edge of the SFO Class B shelf, with Moffett Federal Field, Palo Alto, San Carlos, and Reid-Hillview packing more towered fields into one valley than almost anywhere in the country. Authorization grids are tight but well-traveled; our pilots treat multi-facility coordination as the default condition for any Silicon Valley project.
Santa Clara's municipally powered data-center cluster — dozens of facilities drawn by Silicon Valley Power rates — is one of the densest colocation markets in the world and keeps expanding parcel by parcel. Moffett Park in Sunnyvale is being rebuilt around major tech campuses, North San Jose continues its office-industrial churn, and the Diridon Station area holds some of the largest entitled redevelopment land on the West Coast, all alongside perpetual bayfront levee and transit work.

03// FAQ
Most San Jose & Silicon Valley projects fall between $2,500 and $15,000 depending on acreage, vegetation, deliverables, and whether certified survey control is required. Small single-site scans start lower; large campuses and corridors are quoted per site or per linear mile. Send a KML of your site and we return an exact quote within 24 hours.
Because our FAA-certified pilots are local to the San Jose & Silicon Valley area, most sites can be captured within days of contract — weather and airspace authorization permitting — without travel mobilization costs. Processed deliverables typically follow within one to two weeks depending on scope.
Our point clouds, DEMs, and contours are engineering-grade and drop directly into CAD, GIS, and BIM workflows. When a deliverable must carry a professional land surveyor's certification, we partner with licensed surveyors in California to provide it. Remote Optix Inc. and Pro LiDAR are not professional land surveyors and do not represent themselves as such.
