Connecticut is nearly three-quarters forested, and its oak-and-maple canopy hides the stone walls, foundations, and drainage that site engineers need to see — leaf-off flights between late November and April are the difference-maker here. The terrain rolls from the Litchfield Hills in the northwest to the flat Connecticut River valley and a heavily developed Long Island Sound shoreline.
Bradley International north of Hartford carries the state’s Class C, while the southwestern towns sit near the edge of the New York Class B area, where careful airspace review is part of every flight plan.
