Drone LiDAR Scanning
Millimeter-accurate aerial point clouds captured by sensor-equipped UAVs.
// Coverage / IN / Indianapolis
Engineering-grade aerial LiDAR across the Indianapolis area — captured by FAA-certified pilots who fly this market every week, processed to one national QA standard, delivered in the formats your team works in.
01// Field Notes
Central Indiana's till plain is about as forgiving as LiDAR terrain gets — flat cropland, minimal canopy on greenfield sites, and section-line road grids that make ground-control layout simple. Humid summers haze up long-range imagery more than they bother LiDAR returns, and the freeze-thaw shoulder months are prime time for large-area rural capture before crops go in.
Indianapolis International's Class C covers the southwest metro, including the airport-adjacent warehouse belt in Plainfield, with Eagle Creek Airpark and the Speedway's event-day flight restrictions adding local considerations on the west side. Most of the boom geography — Lebanon, Whitestown, Fishers — sits under light or uncontrolled airspace where our pilots launch without authorization delays.
The LEAP Research and Innovation District in Lebanon, anchored by Eli Lilly's multibillion-dollar manufacturing investment, is among the largest active site developments in the Midwest and a steady source of mass-grading and utility-corridor mapping; the same wave of Indiana mega-site activity extends to hyperscale construction in New Carlisle up north. Along I-65, Whitestown's distribution parks keep expanding, Plainfield's air-cargo warehousing stays hot, and Fishers and Noblesville continue the suburban build-out northeast of the loop.

03// FAQ
Most Indianapolis projects fall between $2,500 and $15,000 depending on acreage, vegetation, deliverables, and whether certified survey control is required. Small single-site scans start lower; large campuses and corridors are quoted per site or per linear mile. Send a KML of your site and we return an exact quote within 24 hours.
Because our FAA-certified pilots are local to the Indianapolis area, most sites can be captured within days of contract — weather and airspace authorization permitting — without travel mobilization costs. Processed deliverables typically follow within one to two weeks depending on scope.
Our point clouds, DEMs, and contours are engineering-grade and drop directly into CAD, GIS, and BIM workflows. When a deliverable must carry a professional land surveyor's certification, we partner with licensed surveyors in Indiana to provide it. Remote Optix Inc. and Pro LiDAR are not professional land surveyors and do not represent themselves as such.
