Drone LiDAR Scanning
Millimeter-accurate aerial point clouds captured by sensor-equipped UAVs.
// Coverage / MO / Kansas City
Engineering-grade aerial LiDAR across the Kansas City area — captured by FAA-certified pilots who fly this market every week, processed to one national QA standard, delivered in the formats your team works in.
01// Field Notes
Kansas City's rolling dissected-plains terrain hides more relief than outsiders expect — wooded draws and creek bottoms cut through the Northland and Johnson County, so development-tract capture often pairs open pasture with hardwood ravines best flown leaf-off. Spring severe-weather season is the main disruptor; fall delivers the most reliable capture windows of the year.
Kansas City International anchors a Class B over the Northland — directly above the metro's data-center growth zone — while the downtown airport, Charles B. Wheeler, keeps a Class D ring over the river bend. On the Kansas side, Johnson County Executive and New Century AirCenter cover the southwest suburbs, and LAANC authorizations are routine throughout.
The Northland's Golden Plains Technology Park, where Meta's Kansas City data center kicked off a wave of hyperscale investment, is now one of the Midwest's largest planned data-center campuses. South and west, Panasonic's EV battery plant in De Soto and the BNSF intermodal-driven Logistics Park Kansas City in Edgerton anchor industrial demand, while Johnson County's suburban expansion and the downtown riverfront keep civil and vertical crews loaded.

03// FAQ
Most Kansas City projects fall between $2,500 and $15,000 depending on acreage, vegetation, deliverables, and whether certified survey control is required. Small single-site scans start lower; large campuses and corridors are quoted per site or per linear mile. Send a KML of your site and we return an exact quote within 24 hours.
Because our FAA-certified pilots are local to the Kansas City area, most sites can be captured within days of contract — weather and airspace authorization permitting — without travel mobilization costs. Processed deliverables typically follow within one to two weeks depending on scope.
Our point clouds, DEMs, and contours are engineering-grade and drop directly into CAD, GIS, and BIM workflows. When a deliverable must carry a professional land surveyor's certification, we partner with licensed surveyors in Missouri to provide it. Remote Optix Inc. and Pro LiDAR are not professional land surveyors and do not represent themselves as such.
