Drone LiDAR Scanning
Millimeter-accurate aerial point clouds captured by sensor-equipped UAVs.
// Coverage / ND
Engineering-grade aerial LiDAR anywhere in North Dakota — captured by FAA-certified pilots near your site, processed to one national QA standard, delivered in the formats your team works in.
01// Field Notes
The Red River Valley on the eastern border is table-flat old lakebed where LiDAR's vertical precision matters enormously for drainage design, while the west rises through rolling prairie into badlands and Bakken country. Wind is the constant scheduling variable, and deep-winter cold snaps cut battery endurance enough that we plan campaigns around them.
North Dakota is one of the most drone-forward states in the country — the Northern Plains UAS Test Site and the Grand Sky park at Grand Forks AFB anchor a genuine unmanned-aviation ecosystem. Tower coordination at Fargo's Hector Field and Bismarck, plus military airspace around Minot AFB, are the main constraints in an otherwise wide-open state.
Bakken oil-field activity — pads, gathering lines, and facility sites across the Williston Basin — remains the anchor workload, joined by flood-control and drainage projects in the Red River Valley, where inches of elevation decide how water moves. Ag infrastructure and wind-farm work fill the calendar between energy campaigns.

03// FAQ
Most North Dakota projects fall between $2,500 and $15,000 depending on acreage, vegetation, deliverables, and whether certified survey control is required. Small single-site scans start lower; large or corridor projects are quoted per linear mile. Send a KML of your site and we return an exact quote within 24 hours.
Yes — Pro LiDAR contracts vetted, FAA-certified pilots across North Dakota, including the Fargo area. Because capture happens locally, you don't pay travel mobilization for most sites, and weather windows can be hit quickly.
Our point clouds, DEMs, and contours are engineering-grade and drop directly into CAD, GIS, and BIM workflows. When a deliverable must carry a professional land surveyor's certification, we partner with licensed surveyors in North Dakota to provide it. Remote Optix Inc. and Pro LiDAR are not professional land surveyors and do not represent themselves as such.
