Drone LiDAR Scanning
Millimeter-accurate aerial point clouds captured by sensor-equipped UAVs.
// Coverage / UT / Salt Lake City
Engineering-grade aerial LiDAR across the Salt Lake City area — captured by FAA-certified pilots who fly this market every week, processed to one national QA standard, delivered in the formats your team works in.
01// Field Notes
The Wasatch Front stacks its entire market on a narrow bench between 11,000-foot peaks and the Great Salt Lake — alluvial slopes, fault-line benches, and lakebed flats where geotechnical and drainage questions follow every project. Winter inversions and mountain snow squeeze cold-season flight windows, and receding lake margins have created a strange new frontier of exposed flats that agencies increasingly need mapped.
Salt Lake City International's Class B dominates the northwest valley, with South Valley Regional and Provo's airline-growing field bracketing the metro north to south. Hill AFB anchors the Ogden end of the Front, and the vast Utah Test and Training Range restricted areas sit over the west desert — well clear of the urban bench where most projects land.
The Silicon Slopes corridor at Lehi and the Point of the Mountain — including the 600-acre The Point redevelopment on the old prison site — is Utah's marquee construction market, with Meta's Eagle Mountain data center and the NSA's Bluffdale facility marking the region's larger digital-infrastructure footprint. The Utah Inland Port is turning the northwest quadrant into a rail-served logistics hub, and Utah County's housing surge from Saratoga Springs to Spanish Fork keeps residential and roadway capture running the length of the valley.

03// FAQ
Most Salt Lake City projects fall between $2,500 and $15,000 depending on acreage, vegetation, deliverables, and whether certified survey control is required. Small single-site scans start lower; large campuses and corridors are quoted per site or per linear mile. Send a KML of your site and we return an exact quote within 24 hours.
Because our FAA-certified pilots are local to the Salt Lake City area, most sites can be captured within days of contract — weather and airspace authorization permitting — without travel mobilization costs. Processed deliverables typically follow within one to two weeks depending on scope.
Our point clouds, DEMs, and contours are engineering-grade and drop directly into CAD, GIS, and BIM workflows. When a deliverable must carry a professional land surveyor's certification, we partner with licensed surveyors in Utah to provide it. Remote Optix Inc. and Pro LiDAR are not professional land surveyors and do not represent themselves as such.
