Drone LiDAR Scanning
Millimeter-accurate aerial point clouds captured by sensor-equipped UAVs.
// Coverage / WA / Seattle
Engineering-grade aerial LiDAR across the Seattle area — captured by FAA-certified pilots who fly this market every week, processed to one national QA standard, delivered in the formats your team works in.
01// Field Notes
Puget Sound terrain is glacial and abrupt — drumlin ridges, ravines, and bluffs under some of the densest conifer canopy of any American metro, exactly the conditions where LiDAR's canopy penetration separates it from photogrammetry. October-through-May marine cloud decks are the limiting factor; the June-to-September window is superb, and our crews keep winter projects moving by striking during high-pressure breaks.
Sea-Tac's Class B stacks over the metro spine with Boeing Field and Renton Municipal operating directly beneath it, and Paine Field in Everett adding airline and Boeing-plant traffic to the north end. Joint Base Lewis-McChord shapes operations toward Tacoma's south side. It is dense, layered airspace — and thoroughly LAANC-covered, which keeps authorization from being the bottleneck.
Bellevue's Spring District towers and Microsoft's Redmond campus rebuild lead an Eastside construction cycle that shows little sign of slowing, while Sound Transit's multi-line light-rail expansion generates some of the most demanding corridor-mapping work in the country. The Kent Valley remains one of the largest warehouse-industrial concentrations on the West Coast, and Washington's data-center story concentrates east of the mountains in the Quincy–Grant County hydro corridor, which we cover from the same statewide network.

03// FAQ
Most Seattle projects fall between $2,500 and $15,000 depending on acreage, vegetation, deliverables, and whether certified survey control is required. Small single-site scans start lower; large campuses and corridors are quoted per site or per linear mile. Send a KML of your site and we return an exact quote within 24 hours.
Because our FAA-certified pilots are local to the Seattle area, most sites can be captured within days of contract — weather and airspace authorization permitting — without travel mobilization costs. Processed deliverables typically follow within one to two weeks depending on scope.
Our point clouds, DEMs, and contours are engineering-grade and drop directly into CAD, GIS, and BIM workflows. When a deliverable must carry a professional land surveyor's certification, we partner with licensed surveyors in Washington to provide it. Remote Optix Inc. and Pro LiDAR are not professional land surveyors and do not represent themselves as such.
