Drone LiDAR Scanning
Millimeter-accurate aerial point clouds captured by sensor-equipped UAVs.
// Coverage / GA
Engineering-grade aerial LiDAR anywhere in Georgia — captured by FAA-certified pilots near your site, processed to one national QA standard, delivered in the formats your team works in.
01// Field Notes
Georgia stretches from Blue Ridge mountain forest in the north through red-clay piedmont around Atlanta to flat coastal-plain pine plantations in the south. The piedmont’s mixed hardwood canopy makes November-to-March leaf-off flights the preferred window for bare-earth work, while planted loblolly stands in south Georgia scan consistently in any month. Humid-summer haze and pop-up storms are the main weather constraints.
Hartsfield-Jackson’s Class B — built around the world’s busiest airport — covers the Atlanta core, with Class C at Savannah and military airspace around Robins Air Force Base and Fort Benning. LAANC makes metro authorizations routine, and the agricultural south flies largely uncontrolled.
Metro Atlanta’s data-center growth, the industrial belt along I-85 through Gwinnett and Jackson counties, and the warehouse boom radiating from the Port of Savannah drive Georgia’s heaviest LiDAR demand. EV and battery plant construction — including the Hyundai Metaplant corridor near Savannah — plus solar development on south Georgia farmland round out the market.

03// FAQ
Most Georgia projects fall between $2,500 and $15,000 depending on acreage, vegetation, deliverables, and whether certified survey control is required. Small single-site scans start lower; large or corridor projects are quoted per linear mile. Send a KML of your site and we return an exact quote within 24 hours.
Yes — Pro LiDAR contracts vetted, FAA-certified pilots across Georgia, including the Atlanta area. Because capture happens locally, you don't pay travel mobilization for most sites, and weather windows can be hit quickly.
Our point clouds, DEMs, and contours are engineering-grade and drop directly into CAD, GIS, and BIM workflows. When a deliverable must carry a professional land surveyor's certification, we partner with licensed surveyors in Georgia to provide it. Remote Optix Inc. and Pro LiDAR are not professional land surveyors and do not represent themselves as such.
