Drone LiDAR Scanning
Millimeter-accurate aerial point clouds captured by sensor-equipped UAVs.
// Coverage / GA / Atlanta
Engineering-grade aerial LiDAR across the Atlanta area — captured by FAA-certified pilots who fly this market every week, processed to one national QA standard, delivered in the formats your team works in.
01// Field Notes
Atlanta is a city inside a forest: mature loblolly pine and hardwood canopy covers even close-in parcels, so we spec higher pulse densities for ground extraction and favor leaf-off windows for hardwood-heavy tracts. The red-clay Piedmont ground erodes fast once cleared — a reason grading and stormwater teams here lean on repeat topo — and summer thunderstorms set the daily flight rhythm.
Hartsfield-Jackson — the busiest airport in the world — projects its Class B across the south metro, while DeKalb-Peachtree and Fulton County Executive keep busy Class D rings over the north and west sides, and Dobbins Air Reserve Base adds military traffic near Marietta. It's a crowded picture, but decades of LAANC coverage make authorizations routine for our pilots.
The data-center belt through Douglas County and Lithia Springs — where Google and a cluster of colocation operators have built out along the I-20 west corridor — has made metro Atlanta one of the fastest-growing data-center markets in the country. Layer on Midtown's tower pipeline, BeltLine-driven infill, film-studio campuses like Trilith south of the airport, and the warehouse sprawl down I-85 toward the port-connected Southeast, and the capture demand rarely pauses.

03// FAQ
Most Atlanta projects fall between $2,500 and $15,000 depending on acreage, vegetation, deliverables, and whether certified survey control is required. Small single-site scans start lower; large campuses and corridors are quoted per site or per linear mile. Send a KML of your site and we return an exact quote within 24 hours.
Because our FAA-certified pilots are local to the Atlanta area, most sites can be captured within days of contract — weather and airspace authorization permitting — without travel mobilization costs. Processed deliverables typically follow within one to two weeks depending on scope.
Our point clouds, DEMs, and contours are engineering-grade and drop directly into CAD, GIS, and BIM workflows. When a deliverable must carry a professional land surveyor's certification, we partner with licensed surveyors in Georgia to provide it. Remote Optix Inc. and Pro LiDAR are not professional land surveyors and do not represent themselves as such.
