SVC / 01
Drone LiDAR Scanning
Millimeter-accurate aerial point clouds captured by sensor-equipped UAVs.
// Coverage / TX / Houston
Engineering-grade aerial LiDAR across the Houston area — captured by FAA-certified pilots who fly this market every week, processed to one national QA standard, delivered in the formats your team works in.
01// Field Notes
Houston sits on coastal prairie so flat that a few feet of elevation decide whether a site floods, which is exactly why bare-earth accuracy matters here — clay gumbo soils, bayou networks, and dense loblolly pine on the north side toward The Woodlands. Gulf humidity haze and afternoon convection favor early flight windows, and June-through-November hurricane season is the one calendar risk we plan around.
A single sprawling Class B covers both Bush Intercontinental on the north side and Hobby on the southeast, with Ellington Field, Sugar Land Regional, and a constant stream of Medical Center and offshore-support helicopter traffic filling in below. LAANC handles most of it quickly, while the refinery fence lines along the Ship Channel add facility-security coordination that our pilots manage as routine.
Petrochemical turnarounds and expansions from the Ship Channel down through Baytown and Texas City keep industrial capture in steady demand, and Port Houston terminal work adds marine-adjacent topo on top of it. Post-Harvey drainage bonds fund years of channel, detention-basin, and floodplain mapping across Harris County, while the Grand Parkway growth ring — Katy, Cypress, New Caney — churns out master-planned residential and big-box logistics sites.

03// FAQ
Most Houston projects fall between $2,500 and $15,000 depending on acreage, vegetation, deliverables, and whether certified survey control is required. Small single-site scans start lower; large campuses and corridors are quoted per site or per linear mile. Send a KML of your site and we return an exact quote within 24 hours.
Because our FAA-certified pilots are local to the Houston area, most sites can be captured within days of contract — weather and airspace authorization permitting — without travel mobilization costs. Processed deliverables typically follow within one to two weeks depending on scope.
Our point clouds, DEMs, and contours are engineering-grade and drop directly into CAD, GIS, and BIM workflows. When a deliverable must carry a professional land surveyor's certification, we partner with licensed surveyors in Texas to provide it. Remote Optix Inc. and Pro LiDAR are not professional land surveyors and do not represent themselves as such.
